ABOVE: These views, taken mid-July 2001, look northeast and show the area around the tunnel exit/entrance near the Pentagon Mall Entrance, which is right around the corner from the large pine tree. The view of this area changed forever two months later, when the 9/11/01 plane crashed into the west face of The Pentagon, just out of view to the right in the upper left picture. This whole area is now part of a 9/11 monument area making these views totally unrecognizable today. BELOW: These views are also from 2001 and look southwest. Enjoy the images, as a stroll down the cement path to the right of the tunnel exit is now a thing of the past, and the area is totally unrecognizable as such today. The former location of South Post Fort Myer is to the right, behind the trees, and street signs for 'Columbia Pike and Navy Annex' are visible. Photos by Bill Jentz
