Right Photo: In this view, the photographer was standing on the path that started at South Parking, ran parallel to the west face of The Pentagon (right next to Washington Boulevard as shown) and to the Mall Entrance. The South Post Gymnasium can be seen in the background. As recently as about 2002, this path was intact, but this scene is not recognizable today- a result of 9/11/01. The plane that crashed into the west face of the Pentagon flew right over where the barracks are shown in this photo and into The Pentagon, which is to the right of the photo. |
